Lalu Prasad, (the former Union Railway Minister of India, Ex. CM of Bihar, The darling of the masses) is a very prominent face in the house of Indian parliament who doesn’t require any introduction. Lalu Prasad was born in a poor peasant family in Phulwaria, in the Gopalganj district of Bihar state on June 11, 1948, to Sh. Kundan Rai and Smt. Marachhiya Devi. He is a man of many parts. He has his unique style and fashion statement. And he makes people stand up and take notice. He is a lawyer by education. He is B.A.L.L.B, from Patna University. Lalu Ji married Rabri Devi in 1973. Yadav’s first political step was his election as President of the Patna University Students Union in 1970 and was subsequently elected to the 9th Lok Sabha on a Janata Party ticket at Lok Sabha in 1977, at the age of only 29 years, becoming one of its youngest members.

A visionary , Lalu Prasad served as the Chief Minister of Bihar two times, first for a term of five years from 10 March 1990 to 3 April 1995 and then for a term of three years from 4 April 1995 to 25 July 1997 and implemented policies and took action to ensure that the poor and backward sections of society lived in harmony with the rest, and people from all religions, castes and social backgrounds contributed towards growth of the state. Lalu Prasad also served as the Railway Minister of India from 2004 to 2009. He is a Member of Parliament of India for Saran (Chhapra) and National President of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD).
